Kevin Keith didn’t have it this time. Joe Edgerly did. That was the story at Adams Field on Thursday authentic Tim Lincecum jersey Orange as the North Quincy High School baseball team blanked Quincy, 8-0, behind Edgerly’s three-hit shutout.
The victory – in the semifinals of the Quincy-North Quincy Tournament – was payback of sorts for the Red Raiders, who had dropped a 4-2 intracity decision here last Wednesday.

In last week’s win over North, Keith had been dominant, losing a no-hitter with two outs in the sixth. This time, the right-hander lasted only three-plus innings. North touched him for three runs in the third, and Keith departed after loading the bases with no outs in what became a five-run fourth.

“I trust my defense and let them do the work – just like they’ve been doing all season,” he said. “With good run support I just let them put it in play. We’ve got one of the best defenses I’ve seen.”

The Red Raiders have won three in a row and have already equaled their win total from last season (9-11).
“We’re excited and we feel like we deserve it; we worked hard,” Fidalgo said, “but we’re only halfway done. We have to continue on this pace.”
